Default Help buying an SC

I have found an Extremely Clean Original 5 speed Manual 93 SC300 on Stance coilovers with Supra TT rims and LS BBK.

the car has 89K miles on it and looks as good as a car this age can look. Leather looks like noone has touched it.

Assuming everything checks out with inspection,
is 8500 a good price or am i over paying?

Oh and i will be using the car as a weekend car to begin with, then once my ford 500 (276k miles) blows up, ill be using the SC as DD.

I wouldn't pay that price....seems very high. maybe if it was a 96, even then....that price is like a 2000 sc400, least in my area.

Thanks for the input eight! i really appreciate you responding.
I figured it was a little on the high end, its just hard for me to decide cuz im looking for low miles and very little work from the start. This seems like the cleanest one since ive been searching for SC's that i have found. So as no one is coming at me telling me this is an insane amount to pay then im okay with it.

I also dont feel right haggling much as hes throwing in new tires on spare wheels and getting emmisions done.

how can he say its high with out even pictures. you should pay what you think is right to you. if the car is that mint then i can see the reason for the price.

trust me, you will end up spending that much or more to get it up to the standards you want. interior work is not cheap, repairing dents or chips, will add up. if that car was 100% perfect with no needed work I would buy it. I say $7800
93 is OBD1 so your good

yeh somewhere around 75-8. If you start with junk you end up with junk. always better to spend the money and buy a nice clean one from a good owner. post some pics/.

The price of the SC varies big time, if its in really good like... perfect condition, with original 5spd, and also depending on what color, i think the price seems right to be completely honest. I bought my 1998 SC400 in Black for $5500, the condition was alright but I think it was the right price considering that only a few of them were produced.

Souns like it was owned by someone on this forum.
LS BBK Stance Coils and TT rims on an original 5-speed, and with low mileage and a mint interior?

That's nice. Not a bad price, but it's a little on the high side. however cars like this are harder and harder to find. IF you can talk him down into the high 7's, try $7,700 cash, which is still a little high for a car like this, but I honestly don't think you'll find another 5 speed with the BBK already installed very soon.

A lot of people in this forum will tell you they wouldn't pay that much because they found their's for $2500 and it only needed a little work etc. But you know what, I paid $6,500 for mine with 138k miles on it, rims, megan coils, and ground effects, and I am more than excited about having paid that price.

If you can stomach high $7k I would recommend you go for it. I don't believe anyone will offer the $8,500 they're asking for it, and if you have cash and I was selling mine for that price, I would accept a high $7k offer.

Good luck, though. I firmly believe these cars are worth it, and as they get driven and wrecked and garaged and hidden they'll become rarer and rarer.

I also think the price is a bit high but clean examples of these cars are getting harder to come by. That being said I've been known to pay a bit of a premium for vehicles that are any of, or a combo of the following:
1) One or two owner cars
2) Have complete service records
3) Are low mileage and/or in immaculate shape for their age

+1. One owner vehicles with 200k I'm fine with paying a bit more for.

Price is a little steep. Talk him down to 7.

You can't go wrong with that, you won't find another one like it unless it was restored, I say go for it and enjoy the manual 2jz

The value will go up on these, they are the last real manual lexus.
