Well my fuel pump gave out 2 weeks ago. My mechanic who I really trust saw where I had bypassed the fuel pump ecu. He said regardless of what is said delivering 12 all the time will eventually burn up the fuel pump. I will say that I did the bypass 2 years and 45000 miles ago. I have noticed since I installed the new ecu My pump does not make noise.

I highly doubt the pump had failed due to 12V constant........If you old pump made noise it means it was already going bad...

Mine was working fine but I had misdiagnosed it as the cause of a start and stall problem so I bypassed it over a year ago. Could probably reconnect it now but I honestly don't see the point, and in the next 12-24 months I want to go Forced Induction so I'm just gonna leave it this way.

Yeah, there's no way it will burn out.

I have a custom GT35R setup on my 96 Land Cruiser. I installed a Supra TT pump and hard wired it with a relay. They are meant for consistent good voltage. Many pumps love additional voltage, up to 17V or so which is why the Kenne Bell Boost A Pump is made. Easy way to increase fuel delivery.

Anyways, we will watch for Banks' module and update with the results.

Well I heard back from Tanin today. They can not repair the fuel pump ecu. The unit is sealed and after popping it open it became evident it was not designed to be repaired. Sooooo...
either but a new one, a used one or do the 12v mod.

^^^ Boo. Thanks for reporting back, though, and thanks to Tanin for looking into it!
