Cool OEM Pinstripe

Hey gang, I was just wondering if anybody happen to have some detailed pics of the OEM pin striping that the SC's come with. I'm thinking about adding a custom pin striping just to add some contrast on my all black SC, and I need pics of the OEM just for reference. And also is it painted on or vinyl sticker? Everything I find online is just partial or really old pics and I can't see ****. Thanks guys, just post them up in this thread.

From what I remember back when I still had it on my car: it's painted on. it's 3 stripes, the upper was light tan with a darker thicker line overlapping it then another light tan stripe below with space between in it and the dark middle stripe.

D,
My 97' has them but they are worn out a bit. These are the only pics i can find that shows them a bit quickly. You can at least see the positioning of the start and end. I'll look for more.

Thanks for the pics Tony. The placing is higher than I was expecting. I wonder how it looks from the side view. I wanted to place the pinstripe about an inch away from the curve that goes from front to back, but it's not continues as the front wheel well separates it.

I received the package today by the way. I'll text you in a bit.

You're welcome to take my pin stripes.

Those sit a lot higher than my '94 stripes. Mine are even with the bottom of the door handle, about 1" below the fuel lid. They're double striped, with a thicker line above a thin line.

Bottom of first post. Not the best pic for seeing the pin stripe, but you can make out the line it follows below the door handle. It's pretty faded on the rear quarter panel and easy to miss if you're not looking at it close up.

When I bought the car, it had dried out peeling pin stripes that I took off, only to discover they were covering inconsistently faded and touched up factory pin stripes underneath. Pin stripe over pin stripe over paint over pin stripe over paint! I have the driver's side one totally removed, but I made the already rough paint worse in the process...

Thanks Boriken and t2d2.

The higher pin stripe looks a bit off and awkward. Pin striping is supposed to enhance the lines or curves of the design of the car, and the higher one is way too far from the main line that goes from front to back of the SC. The problem with the lower one though, is that there's too many obstructions instead of having the pinstripe flow seamlessly from front to back; the front fender arch and door handle. Hmmm... this is going to be tricky. But I really feel that the SC really needs pin striping to sorta complete it's look.

I personally like the look of how your car is atm, and fits the VIP look more without the pinstripe. But its all you bro if thats what you like then yeah i agree one of the reasons for me taking it off was it was to high and looked weird, and I like battle stance, track car look. But best of luck with your project man.

I have a painted on pinstripe. The original owner paid someone to hand paint it at the dealer for $1200 back in 1997 (I got the records printed off from lexus)

Mine's different than everyone elses... Mine is one connected line that encircles the whole car. I have 2 parallel lines in the normal spots, but then the line continues down by the head light and circles the wheel wells and runs parallel to the sideskirts. It continues on the rear bumper along the lower edge and curves around the license plate.

^ I agree with JP. I couldnt stand my pinstripes. Unfortunately mine were under the clear-coat and cost me $400 to remove (totally worth it btw, thats how much I hated them). They date the car.

Here are some before/after pics (what the car looked like with the previous owner, and now me).

The other side soon came to the hand of the rubber wheel. See ya stripes.
