i swear to god it sounds like a turbo but i dont have one, or if i did it probably wouldnt work the sound seems to come from the bottom of the engine bay , i think it might be the transaxle.

Take it to a shop and have them fix it.

Sounds dangerous. Probably the tranny.

Mine does the same thing, more of a whistle though... when I'm decelarating around 2k's RPM. It's only in the cold cold whether though, so i'm gonna ignore it till spring. It also only comes on once in a while so I'm not too too worried, still drives great!

i hear that when i start from a complete stop. mine sounds like it is coming from the right front. almost like a wind noise then it goes away. i started hearing it since it got cold here.

Hmm...From all of you saying that this is happening in cold weather, do you think it could have something to do with any ice build up around the wheels?

Exactly what kind of woosh sound are you getting? Because I can't think anything else besides a bov that makes a wooosh.

My '94 SC400 has done that since I purchased it in '99. In fact, every used SC I test drove made that sound so I figured it was not much to worry about. I now have 162000 miles and it still drives like the day I bought it... which is quite nice.

It does indeed sound like a whirring, kind of a jet engine sound below 1000 RPM. And it does it when the outside temp is cold or hot.

Kinda cool actually... Maybe ignorance is bliss.

i think i have the same noise with my 91 Ls. i'm pretty sure the sound is coming from the tranny because when i'm driving slow like around 1000-1500 rpm or lower i can hear the noise but when i put the car in neutral while i'm still rollin the sound goes away. i thought i was having a tranny problem but so far the trans still shifts like new so i don't even pay attension to it anymore. when it breaks that's when i'll worry about. i change the fluid regularly and it's been fine all the way to 214,000 miles
