Default 97 gauge cluster LH/RH turn and Rheostat wiring

Hey Guys,

in the process of swapping in the rare 97 SC300 manual gauge cluster to my 92 SC400.

making a wiring diagram cross reference guide for my self i noticed that the wires and colors for LH/RH turn and the Rheostat are swapped. It almost makes me think there is a wiring diagram error, as the yellow/green on 97 cluster goes to black/green on 92 cluster and vice versa for the lh/rh turn signals. do i follow the wiring diagram or do i follow the wire colors? Anyone else whose done this remember?

same issue with the rheostat blue/black and brown wires (C3 and C5 on 92 cluster harness).

Also, is deleting the resistor trick for the tach to work required on the 97 and up gauge clusters as well with a 1JZ swap?

thanks for insight! here is my wiring diagram so far for others who might want to reference.

well I wired the rheostat and turn signal blinkers up by what my intuition told me - wire colors, and they work correctly. the dimmer works the right way and the blinkers the right way.

now I still don't know about the outdoor temp sensor, what kind of a temperature sensor is it looking for? could I get an oil temperature sensor and hook that in there? I hope someone has an answer to this. I imagine it is a single wire temperature sensor kind of like the coolant sensor on the gauge cluster?

also, the AC control assembly D21, what is that??

and the orange pin on C2 also all the diagram says it goes to ECU through IJ2-3, doesn't ring a bell.

I will update the attached diagram as I figure it out for peoples' future reference.

FYI the resistor delete is required whoever find this thread looking for info on it, it is the R2 resistor, there is no R109 on newer clusters.

cheers
Marko
