New to the Club, Need Advice
So I am looking to buy this 1998 Lexus SC300. She has 125k miles, completely stock, interior is perfect, immaculate condition (no rust, dents, dings, or paint fading). Basically looks like she came off the showroom floor. The dealership she is at is asking $6000, my question is that high price or just about right. KBB price set at $6155, NADA at $8100, and at Edmunds at $4800. Kind of a bad spread in my mind. I'm on a budget, and also I know that Lexus has a high resell value, but also parts aren't cheap.
So all in all, what does everyone think about the price? I am definitely going for the car, just like to know about the price range I can negotiate it down to.

I've been to that dealership in Antarctica. It's a really kewl place but their prices have gone south. That, in itself, does not differentiate it from the rest of the Lexus Stealers...
Not too many people want to buy an ancient luxury car. If you have a bargaining position, that would be it.
Sometimes claiming you are buying the car to resell it works. I would go there and leave a written offer. Then I would leave it sit. If you play this game it's vital that you leave it sit for at least 2 weeks and after that, call to check on your offer. Learn who makes those decisions in the process of making the initial offer.
MAYBE someone else will come by and take the car - after all, it's summer down there - but I doubt it. More likely the car has been there for quite a while. Are the brake rotors rusted?
A user on here called Nanook the Ugly sells a kit to hitch up your dog team and a 2-way intercom thingy so you can talk to your team of huskies, as you mush on through the snow. You may need a few extra dogs - the SCs are a bit on the heavy side... Nanook may have a penguin adapter as well - the SC sits low so you might be able to see over the dash, but I doubt your hind flippers will reach the pedals

First question what in the world is a Sc doing in Antarctica? And considering your question, on price go as low as possible on your offer for the vehicle. Their can't be a high demand for this car in your region.

Since there are no paved roads, better consider "snow tires" and you should raise it up as high as you can...

If its in "immaculate condition" and looks like it "came off the show room floor" then KBB AND NADA giving it 6-8 grand sounds about right. Id never go with Edmunds they low ball the heck out of the value of cars. That dealership priced it right at 6000 with 125,000 miles and thats only the "asking price", try negotiate a little
