I would suggest that you do find a price range from edmunds.com, cars.com, or consumerreports.org. Once you have a price range the price should be determined by condition, mileage and certification. Lexus certified can be extended well beyond the 3 years offerd on this car. Do not worry about someone telling you "paid too much, I got the same car for 5k less." No 2 seemingly identical used cars are the same in condition or treatment by the original owner.
Buy a good ES350 at a fair price, get the certified warranty and enjoy the car knowing your sister is driving a quality product with an excellent reputation.

I should have added in my original post that the car you are considering has excellent option packages. Nav and a back-up camera would be must haves for me. HID headlights are great. Heated and cooled seats are wonderful. I think the price is fair, especially if you can negotiate one or two more years of certification. As a point of reference you can buy this car new, 2012, with same options as the 2010, for $40,111 according to consumer reports buying service.

My sister only can spend 30-33k on the used car. I know 2012 is a better deal. I looked at kbb the suggest value is around 31k I add TTL came out $33,100. I dont know if that a price I should pay or dealer wont take it. Thanks

You won't be able to get the same price/deal as someone in a different part of the country who may have bought at a different time of the month or year.

Much of the pricing depends on the dealers inventory, local competition, time of the month etc.

The best thing to do is offer a price that you are comfortable with and then pull the trigger and enjoy the car. Any buyers remorse won't last too long.

I paid 39k for a new 2012 touring edition in mid May. Basically same options as car you are looking at with saddle tan seats and ultra luxury edition wheels. Prices for new 2012 left overs depend greatly on dealer stock and geographic area, how many dealers are in an area will affect how deep the discount on a 2012. My area has 2 dealers within 70 miles. Closest dealer has very few left, all low option cars.

Last July, I paid $36,000 for a 1 year old, 9,000 mile, 2010 Ultra w/chromed wheels. $46,400 list.
Basically it was $10,000 off list price for 1 years use.

The one your sister is looking at looks like a fine ES....but it is now two years old how much discount are they offering off the list price on the original sticker.......... $4,000 discount per year ($8,000)?

I think anywhere in the 30--31k range would be good deal. You might want to start around 30,200 and go from there so worse case you settle for 31k which would be fair #. I have 2010 with same options but have 38,000 mi. after 30 months of driving . Great vehicle ...but looking to move to GS line in next 18-24 mos.

Offer them $30k-$30.5k plus title and taxes. They might come back and meet you in the middle and you'll be good to go.

I was looking at that same dealer and probaly seen that car. I ended up buying a New 2012 for 35k. Couldn't pass that up a deal like that. I am only missing the NAV so this is a great deal. There clearing out the 2012 since the new model is comming in.

IF it is for me then it wouldn't be that hard. I understand. Rather spend 5-6more k to get a brand new but if it's for me then I just pay 4-5 more on top of 2012 to get a new body style but my sister only can spend on the price range. I also waiting for the 3rd gen IS to trade my slow 250 on.
