Default fuel gauge needle not moving

so today i wanted to just put a little gas in my 92 sc400. premium was 4 bucks so i just put in 4 gallons of just unleaded. and then the needle didn't move? i drove the car for like 4 more hours (i deliver pizzas) and the needle actually moved down a tiny bit. never had this problem before and now the needle sits nearly at empty with no low fuel light or anything. car drives fine and everything is cool. gonna try to put in a bunch of gas tmr since i got paid. anyone had a problem similar to this? does lower octane gas not raise the floater like higher octane does? this is really weird lol.

Your fuel level sensor failed. Not uncommon.

cud it just be the gauge like the guy in the post said? i recently removed the cluster to try and take a look at the needle lights since they dont work. maybe i just didn't plug it in all the way or something. i'll mess with that first and if that doesn't work then i'll go to the tank. but putting in regular unleaded shouldn't be a huge problem once in a while right?

More than likely your corporate. I think you have jarred something loose behind there. If you see the five screws on each side of the gas and temp needle, make sure they are snug. If they are loose or anything, this will cause these not to read correctly and inaccurately. Make sure everything is plugged on and snug in the cluster.

Could also be the fuel gauge motor in the cluster. We see that quite a bit.

Yes sir that could be the issue as well. Check the copper coil wiring on the back side. See if it is broken or come apart.

In the future, you might wanna let it be known what you've done to the problem area instead of not mentioning it.
