I need coilovers that will help the car squat.
I really don't care about drop or handling around a corner.
I plan on taking my sc300 to the strip all the time this summer (since there is one 20 minutes from where I live)

I was looking at the ksport drags, but not a huge fan of their spring rates and you cant customize the spring rates.

I read that a lot of the sound performance guys run tein flexs.

What experience have you guys had with coilovers for squatting? What coilovers did you use?

 

I think the K-Sports are the same spring rate as the old HKS drag coil overs... But I believe the only people that sell you the right spring rate is MVP motorsports as they bought the rights for K sports HKS drags clones..

Just go with the gixxer drew setup! You can have what ever spring rate you want and you can always swap them out to what works best for you. I will be installing mine soon after I put them all together in the next week or so.

That is understandable. For me, I will be doing the same. Taking my car to the strip from time to time and doing runs from a dig. These will do the job just fine. And like I said, its not that hard to swap out the springs you want. If you read through the whole thread, some have said that they can be compared to the HKS coils which says enough in its self... That is why I went with this setup. Also, its not like it will take $100 or more to change one spring, they are 50 a piece, 200 to change all four corners. The Bilsteins can be re-valved/rebuilt with what ever specs you want. This is the best bang for your buck being completely customizable. Most other coil-overs are setup for specific driving conditions and cant be changed much. That why there are alot of threads out there like "which coilover to choose for such and such driving". With these you can do what ever you please and stay under the 1k budget for coil overs.

You also need to factor in what sway bars you are using. TT or oem and the position you have them in if they are aftermarket.

For under $1k you can make this coil setup to what ever you plan to do with the car.. just my 2 cents

are blistens revalved in the states or do I have to overnight from japan?

 

It is here in California. I believe you send them to San Diego. The SF thread has the info on that. You only need to re-valve the shocks for springs rate above the 600/325 set. Not exactly sure but that is also covered in the thread. Give Bilstein a call and they could answer that question depending on what spring rates you end going with.

how would the GD setup compare to the stock supra setup?
A lot of people run their stock supra suspension.

I am a little wary of going the gixer drew setup since it is meant for road racing. and in road racing you don't want to squat.

 

Its all based on your spring rate..... stiffer the spring the less roll you will have. Softer the spring the more "factory" it will feel or a softer ride. That is why I went with the softer setup. So in a dig, the rear end will be able to squat after you pull the trigger and get..
