Default 2000 Sc 2jzgte

Came accross a 2000 Sandstone SC 2jzgte. Perfect exterior and interior. Has usdm 2jzgte swap w/ aristo trans. Only 98k miles on swap. He's asking 8500, should i sell my 95 400 and pick this up?

Looks like an aristo swap to me. No maf and looks like iat on intake. So if you need to pass obd2 emissions you'll have problems if I'm correct.

Also, based on the pictures and the way its put together, the intake is a super crappy hack job piece and the way the coupler/clamps on the throttle body are situated, whoever worked on it is a hack and I'd expect to find gremlins in this car.

These guys are Pro's! We're in florida so emissions isnt a problem. I'd do a test drive to see if any issues come up. thats not a bad price.

Perhaps it's not finished yet, and he just wanted it up and running. A 2000 SC is expensive enough, then to throw a gte in it....maybe ran out of funds. I will say the exterior looks very nice from what I can see.

oh really? I figured with it being a desirable year and engine someone would have picked it up already. Makes me wonder... I'm still interested, though I'll definitely have someone else take a look at it .

I never understand the combination of high end parts (2000 model year, USDM, etc) with cheapo parts (headlights, possibly hack-job). Why even spend money on parts if you're just gonna cheap out.

I am in agreeance with the remainder of these guys. I would pass. If you are looking to make your SC to look like a 2000, then buy the skirts and bumpers. At least now, you know your car, your troubles, and where you are at with it. If you sell yours, then you are practically started all over again. I say keep what you have and build your car. The choice is yours.

^ having said that, newer model years do have small upgrades that older ones dont, upgrades that go past the 97+ kit (albiet small things, but in my opinion really refine the car and update it to what one would think a 'Lexus' is). If I were to swap a GTE I would shoot for doing it in a 98+ SC.
