Arrow Strut/Spring suggestion

I have a 97 sc300 and don't really have funds for coilovers nor do I need a big drop. Currently sitting on stock sc300 suspensions. My goal is to upgrade the suspension better than stock but also does not put a hole in my wallet (equivalent pricing to how much it is to get stock parts or slightly more expensive). What kind of options do I have?

The gixxer_drew Bilstien Hypercoil combo seems to be highly regarded. Search around for that thread and read the reviews. I was pretty impressed with some of the testimonials. I think that'll be my next setup after my Megans need replacing.

AGX shocks with esplier ASD springs seem to get good reviews.

I just went with the Espelir ASD springs and KYB shocks and struts. Really nice drop on mine, ride is fantastic, no complaints.

To be honest, when you look at the cost shock/spring combo's, you could get a set of Megan EZ Streets.

Otherwise, Im going to suggest my setup, KYB AGX shocks with Eibach Pro kit springs for the TT Supra.

if i were to get the agx shocks is the sc300/supra the same part? Also I don't need to replace the springs... just the shocks.

No, SC shocks need SC Springs, and Supra need Supra. You cannot mix and match these. So if your replacing just the shocks, they must be for an SC to reuse the OEM SC springs.

Your stock top hats will still work with either setup

Thanks! I was told that I only need to replace the front 2 struts. So for now I can try to get agx struts for sc and keep the oem springs. Do you think having agx struts in front and stock struts in back mess anything up? Especially if I adjust the fronts?

after looking around at other posts... they don't even make agx for sc300 huh? damnit okay maybe I just replace OE strut and call it a day lol

Wont hurt anything, might just make the handling of the car feel a bit strange. Setting the AGX shocks to the lowest setting (#1) is pretty close to stock shock dampening.

Our cars have shocks, not struts. gixxerdrew hypercoil will cost as much if not more than an average coilover, it is a superior suspension setup, but not a an affordable drop & ride restoration.

Yeah your right, I think i'm going to get tt shocks/springs from the supra forums.. how much do they run roughly for a set of 4 shocks and springs? and it should be compatible with fronts and rears on the sc300 right? and i should expect a .5'' drop

I suggest that if you do the OEM tt shock/springs that you at least purchase new OEM replacement shocks. If you wanna get fancy buy new shock boots/bellows. If you wanna go the extra mile buy new shock mounts as well.

Thanks for that reminder. I can get new oem replacement shocks or maybe agx shocks. How much should I expect to pay for the springs?
