Woke up this morning..go out to the garage...my SC has all the wheels gone, driver window broken, and my sony screen and dvd player stolen...everything smashed..car in terrible shape. could not believe it. IN THE GARAGE. no visible forced entry or anything. police filed a report, and now start the insurance games. i can't believe it...

In your Garage? What the hell in the world? Do you live in a good neighborhood..? Showing off too much? Wow..makes me scared now...

i live in a real godo neighbrohood, and i never show it off. it's unbelieavble. i've never seen anything like it. how much does a dashboard cost on our cars? because mine is destryoed. i barely even want to get it fixed.

Maybe someone was in the garage the whole time. That's scary!

I had a window broken on a new Toyota Celica GT-S back in 1993. I only had it less than a week. It was in the garage and the only other person home was my brother.

I never suspected him until he showed signs of psychological imbalances a year ago ... threatened to kill my parents.

Now I think he broke the window out of a possible jealous rage.

Sorry to hear about your car. It's so bad for me that I have to leave my SC300 in my parents driveway ... and take my old Miata to commute to and from it. I live in a nice neighborhood, but I only have street parking.

Garages are extremely easy to break in to. From what I hear, the theif basically takes a crow bar, and sticks it under the power garage door at the bottom near the pavement. They then simply pop it off the track, and lift it up.

Reminds me that I should start locking my cars AND the door to my house from the garage from now on. What a shame.

Sorry to hear about your car dpakman91, one thing you can do for your garage is to purchase an alarm with a motion sensor and phone dialer. When someone enters your garage the motion sensor signals the alarm console and then dials a number you choose. I have mines dial my cell number, siren sounds, lights blink in garage, house, etc. It really works well, by the time the thieves can react the alarm is calling your cell phone and you can choose what to do. I haven't had a false alarm yet, you just have to place the motion sensor in the correct place. Example sensor shouldn't be near a mail slot in the garage door, because it will sound when the mail is dropped through it. Check out this site x10.com

i did have lock nuts. the craziest thing is, there were in there long enough to open my center console, take out the lock nut, use a regular manual wrench to take off each wheel. again, totally unbelievable.

What kind of garage? Private house or apartment? I park mine in an apartment building's garage with 20 other cars, expensive ones too. It pisses me off when ppl leave it and don't bother to close the garage door behind them. It takes one click on the remote to close it. By the time it closes automatically they are 2 blocks away, and anyone can enter the garage. People are lazy and they don't care.

i am gettign closer and closer to selling it once it finally gets fixed (which who knows how long it will be by the time the insurance company gets me the money) and getting something a little bit less flashy. if my car's not safe in a nice neighborhood, in a garage, and with an alarm, all locked of course, then where is it safe?

Sorry to hear that happened to you.
When you speak of an alarm, do you mean car or house alarm? You can always have a lift sensor added to most car alarms. That would protect your wheels better.
