Question Side skirts and trim

Still really confused on this. Im about to put side skirts on my 93. I know I need the skirts themselves, as well as various clips. You people mention trim at the bottom of the door is different....
Im looking at the parts sheet now and the only thing I see are called "moulding protectors." There are 3 of them.....looks like one is the length of the door, part number 75862-24010 for 9.89.
Then there are 2 smaller ones for the quarter panel and front bumper (between door and wheel well) which are 1.38 each.
Is this that trim? I dont see any $100 pieces of trim listed....
Do you really need the little trim or will it cause problems or look real bad otherwise?

Here is a pic of the sideskirt without the 97+ lower door trim.

Please excuse the door, getting it painted soon. Some ahole broke into the car, and the factory alarm did not even go off.

Gazi, are the bottom trims of the door plastic or metal, and how are they held onto the door??
Do you happen to have a part number for it?

The bottom trim is metal, and this piece is stock on my 96 door. They are held on with plastic clips.

My trim should be exactly the same as the trim on your car.

OK right, but the 96 ones are an inch too small correct versus the 97-2k trims?

75862-24010 for 9.89.

that part is some sort of rubber molding I bought them but never even used it on my car.

When I put the 97 side skirts on my 95 the clips I were to small to fit in the holes that are already on the car so I put tape on the tips of them so they would fit in the hole. What im going to do is use some self taping screws and screw the bottom of the skirt to the car. I have still yet to buy those 100$ trim pieces, I dont think i will unless I can find them for cheap.

Din, do you think the holes were too big because you used the wrong clips? You had mentioned only one part number for the clips but there are like 5 diff. clips that need to be used according to part sheets. BTW, I was surprised when I saw another candy painted SC that is same color as your car on ebay.

I have a 92 Sc400 and the molding feel off at the bottom of the passenger door. Basically I lost 3 of the 8 plastic clips. I still have the molding, but in order to re-attach it I need 3 of the plastic clips. I went to the dealership to order the clips but apparently they don't have them? And they couldn't tell me forsure whether they come with the molding if I bought a new one. The Lexus Parts department seems to be clueless around here. Anyways I outlined in the bottom pic the molding that fell off. If anyone has any ideas let me know.

I recently bought the piece that's circled. I don't believe the clips come with it automatically, you have to ask for them. The clips have a seperate part number. To make sure you get everything, ask the parts person to show you the diagram of the part on the computer. Then you can see all the parts/pieces and ask, "does that come with it?" Since I've made friends with the wholesale parts guy, I don't to worry about it anymore. When I order something, he knows to get me everything that gores with it to complete the job.

I looked over the parts diagram with the parts guy at the dealership and we were unable to find the 8 little white plastic clips. I'm trying another lexus dealership now so hopefully I can find the part. If anyone happens to have a part number let me know.

Well just checked with another dealership and they are saying the clips come with the molding. Anyone have any other ideas?
