Default 97 sc300 5spd cluster

Trying to change out the guage cluster lights to LED but it is different than the 92-96. Is there a DIY on how to change out the bulbs? I don't see any wedge bulbs to change in mine

Arent these the same as the 92 and up? You have to remove the white plastic, and the screws that secures the mother board down. Dont forget to loosen the ribbon on top. Should be like 13 or 14 total screws you will have to loosen. Someone else chime in.

They are definitely different than the 93 sc400 automatic ones. I'm not sure if the 5spd makes much of a difference. I'm not sure if there is a difference from the 92-96 5spd ones? I've taken pretty much everything apart, and took off those 13-14 screws as well and don't see any wedge type bulbs or anything that actually lights up the main cluster lights.

The ribbons on mine is also towards the bottom right.

the 92-96 cluster is different than the 97+. Also that pic that you posted looks like it maybe for an auto since it has the bulbs going down the middle. as far as the bulb for the tach and speedo ill try to look around and see what I can find to help out. Hopefully somebody with a 97+ will chime in.

97 doesn't have bulbs for the backs of gauges, it has fluorescent or EL lighting for even backlightedness. Very different from 92-96. there are wiring diagrams to wire a 97 to a 92-96 cluster though. i am putting a 97 5spd cluster in my 92 sc400.

Yeah that one is auto, but it's about the same lay out. Thanks

Thanks for clarifying.. since it's not an actual bulb I guess I won't mess with it and change anything.
