Default Power Antenna Question

Hi y'all. I have a Pioneer x930bt double din radio in my 98 sc. I have a working power antenna motor, but my mast is a snapped off (due to the previous owner). Previously with the stock radio, everytime I listened to the radio, the motor would buzz. Only when I listened to the radio though. When the radio was off or If I was listening to the cd changer or cassette, the motor would stay off, which was proper. Now that I have this new radio, the motor always works when I turn the car on and off. IS there a way to only have it work when I turn the radio function on and off? Im trying to figure out if I should buy a mast. Thanks guys!

I put the 940 unit in my '92 and my mast and motor were working properly. I do not use the AM/FM radio much but with the Pioneer there is only one lead for the antenna so when your 930 is on it will always send power to the antenna motor to trigger.

I did not like having the antenna up all the time so instead had the audio shop install a simple off/on switch on the wire that sends power to the antenna motor. Now, only when I want to use the AM/FM feature I turn the switch "on" and the mast goes up.

BTW, changing out the mast is a bit tricky but I have done it twice (and I am not much of a DIYer) so the above is one idea.
