Question Re Engine Bay Cleaning
Can't seem to find much re cleaning engine bay.
What is general consensus now days for most accepted way to clean:
1) Hand wipe down.
2) Detergent and water hose.
3) Detergent and pressure washer.
Obviously care would be taken with 2 or 3 around sensitive electrical components.
My bay is fairly clean but would like to spruce it up a bit especially since a nagging
performance issue has finally been solved and all the under-the-hood activity
left a few smudges.
Thx for any feedback.... 93sc400

Probably want to hand clean everything on the engine. for the rest of the bay you could try covering all electronics with bags and pressure wash down the sides and firewall, but even that is a little risky with the motor in.
I say water and degreaser mixed 50/50. I also like the idea of having compressed air handy. This assures once cleaned with this solution mix, spray it with air to assure a dry engine compartment. Afterwards spraying some WD40 will go a long way. Dont saturate it, just a light coat and it will do wonders. This will dry the remainder of the moisture out of any electrical components. To fine things up more, I would try a light coat of Mothers aluminum polish for the metal pieces. Goes a long way.
