Default e85?

A gas station just opened up real close to me that is selling e85. What are the benefits/ down sides of running it? Performance and gas mileage. Thanks in advance.

Unless you have a newer vehicle that's setup for E85 or a standalone aftermarket ECU and fuel system setup for it you can't use it.

A lot of local guys run it and the biggest issue I've noticed is that E85 is still uncommon at gas stations. They can't drive their cars long distances without knowing exactly where the E85 stations are located.

It's a hassle when we drive to car meets because the E85 guys always have to take some ridiculously long detour to find a gas station.

This is why You go with an ecu that can do flex fuel, or atleast have 2 seperate maps.

I run E85 on my other car , and it's not cheap on my pocket and i pick the places i go , even though i have 5 stations 2 miles from my house.

I will never run e85, if my ecu can't do flex fuel it's not worth it unless it's a weekend Car.

Been running it since around 07. Couldn't imagine life without it now.
