I have the current AEM software, version 2.98, with the required supporting downloads for my particular computer, and its a no go. What am I doing wrong?
I have restarted the computer, deleted the old version and redownloaded the new version, and double check everything. The message is saying," External component has thrown an exemption. AEM tuner cannot connect to the ECU. Please make sure the ECU is plugged is powered on and check the connection cable". I have check the cable like a hundred times. I need to access this so I can adjust a few things with my idle and send a base map to a few people. Any ideas folks?
I also downloaded this on my wife's computer, and still says the same thing.

I think I have found the problem, it might be cause I have Windows 8. The AEM is not compatible with this yet. They are working on this issue. If anyone knows a work around, please post up..
Had the same problem with my emanage, but 7 to XP. Used vmware and loaded XP on it and works like a champ. I believe you can do something similar if needed from stuff I recall seeing researching.

Vrank, do you remember how to go into the settings and make sure the AC is turned in the ON position? I found out where to adjust the delay and such and the rpm level, but not the actual On and OFF switch.

I had the same problem when i downloaded the newest update for the AEM. After that I couldn't conneect. I just took it off and downloaded the old one.
Id be interested in looking at the basemap you have. How did it start and idle? Iv'e got mine pretty decent, but the basemap it came with was crap.

the on off is probably under one of the outputs that are labeled with numbers and letters, you need to read the aem guide see hat pins they go to and start to learn their cryptic ways of AEM labeling everything they can in a universal manner.
