Theres a tool to rent at autozone/advance for pulling the harmonic balancer off. be very careful that it comes out straight.

I've tried that tool and that is what took some threads out of the hole in the balancer

They sell something similar to this at autozone. It's what I used to get my harmonic balancer off.

You need to use a 3 jaw puller.

This is the tool, are you sure you were using it correctly?

Start this video at 9:20, Jeff shows you the proper method for removing the crank pulley, I got mine off with this tool nearly trouble free, just make sure that you go slow and steady.

The harmonic balancer puller works. Did you use the right screws for the holes on the balancer? They might be striped. How long are the bolts ur using try a shorter size.

Or a 3 jaw puller if the harmonic puller doesn't help but it should just come off with patience

3 JAW PULLER!!! NEVER PUT THE JAWS ON THE RIBBED PORTION, LOCATE THEM TO THE LARGER CIRCULAR PART!!! Now you NEED a new crank pulley. Like seriously, you ruined the old one guaranteed, so now you need a new one.

I just pulled mine last month to do a timing belt and water pump, it came right off with a puller. Use three bolts in it and make sure they are threaded in enough. I bet you ripped out threads because you barely had them in the pulley.
