Quick question that I can't seem to find the answer to. Which years were the black/tan two-tone interior offered in the SC300? I think it might have started in 1997, but I can't confirm that.
Here's why I ask: my new (to me) SC300 has a lot of what seem to be the 'standard' interior problems - cracked door panel/window sill, wobbly armrest, pretty gunked up floor mats.
I have the opportunity to go and pick apart a car with factory black interior that's been in a front end accident - the airbags deployed, so I'm assuming the dashboard is toast. The front seats have already been taken, as have the door panels (dammit!).
I'm thinking of taking the a-pillars, headliner, visors, the radio surround/center console trim, and things like that. I can then have the brown parts of my dash dyed and have the full two tone consisting almost entirely of factory parts.
The other option would be to take everything and then search for door panels and seats, or do seat covers. I think this could get expensive. What would you guys do? If you were to take the full interior minus the parts I mentioned, what would you be willing to pay if it were you?
Minus the door panels and front seats, maybe 400-500 for the remainder. You can still find those Ebay and on here from time to time. Or use SEM on the seats and the door panels to match the remainder of the interior.
Take everything and sell what you don't want. Factory black on tan looks fantastic.
That's kind of what I'm thinking. I'm probably going to do the upper interior and upper dash, with the center console surround and arm rest, plus the carpet and mats. I think the two tone looks really good, from the few pictures I've seen. Thanks!

Yeah I think that's my plan, and that's about what I was expecting to spend. I think I'll use the SEM on the groos brown parts of the dash and door panels, since I can't get the dash or the door panels from the donor car.
Which brings me to another question - I've seen people on here repair door panels that break from pulling on them, but I haven't seen any details about repairing the window sills. Mine has a big crack in it. Is it possible to fix the vinyl where it's gashed open (it's about an inch long), or do I need to find another panel entirely?
