So just to confirm, when using an r154 transmission in an sc chasis I need to use the front driveshaft piece from an mk3 r154 ds and the rear piece/carrier bearing from an sc drive shaft correct?

Would that combo news to be balanced?

My 1 piece driveshaft that came with my car needs to be balanced, and I can't find anybody to balance it. :/

 

There has to be a driveshaft shop that will do it, if you have a 1 piece already, just get it modded for the r154

 

They are several that have one piece, some like it, some dont. Since I have the correct center bearing, mine is flawless and works great. If I increase the power, I would recommend a single aluminum or steel one piece sold by DM or local driveshaft shop. To answer your question, yes that is correct. Check the rubber bushing on the end for cracks, etc, and use the TT center bearing or your SC300, to assure correct fitment and alignmnet under the car.

 

Well my 1 piece drive shaft is setup for the r154, but I cant find anybody to balance the drive shaft. I bought the car with the 1 piece on there already so I have no idea where he got it from. It wobbles like crazy...

So I have to use the TT center bearing? Or could I use the sc300 center bearing? I have the mk3/r154 front piece, and a buddy has the sc300 drive shaft, if it wasn't too much trouble, I was just going to take it apart and do it myself.

 

I would ditch the one piece if you cant get it balanced. You can use your SC300 or the TT bearing. Just take it apart in the middle and there is a 19mm nut that you loosen and slide it off then put the new one on. Easy.
