I took a trip out to a local japanese car specialist close to where i work today with the aim of buying a pair of rear lights to replace the nasty aftermarket rears i currently have. My luck was in as they currently have 2x soarers that they are dismantling for parts one of them being a 97.
Unfortunately one of the lights is badly damaged, the outer clear lense is smashed to peices, but from what i could see the housing and inside of the light is ok.
My question is this. Will the lenses from my aftermarket eBay lights fit onto the 97's?
lights from a 97+ are difficult to come by in the UK and i imagine they wont want much for the lights maybe £30 / $45.
Not that I am aware of, no. I'm sure with a lot of baking, cutting and grinding you could make it happen, but unless you want a big task on your hands I'd keep looking.
If you get a set of any taillights you'd want them to be clean as possible. Any cracks or imperfections are going to be near impossible to fix or replace (Its hard to just find the parts you need just for taillights, if you go that route then you'll probably have multiple sets of lights to work with), so it's best you just avoid the headache and find a perfect set.
