sorry for the delay. You should locate your o2 sensor where both exhausts meet. Or buy a second wideband and check both banks separately.

I've been doing a lot of reading on this and while it's true dual wideband will be more accurate, more often than not both banks are about the same. I mean it would tell you if you have an issue with one bank, I guess that would be the advantage.

I was reading a lot on Corvette and mustang forums and a lot of people used to run dual widebands but the common theme I was reading from their posts was that one wideband is sufficient. Usually the best thing to do is to test the wideband on each bank and tune for the leanest bank.

Obviously more wideband sensors the better, hell 8 wideband sensors connecting to each manifold primary would be the best. But from what I read one wideband sensor will do the trick.

The main factor why I went single wideband is because I'm cheap, and the AEM Failsafe is a single wideband gauge. If I wanted similar features to the AEM failsafe in dual wideband, it would cost considerably more money. Unless someone knows of a good bang for your buck dual wideband alternative with failsafe shutoff features and good data logging.

Wink Rear suspension

Today i changed toe arms and traction bars on the rear suspension. It was one of the worst jobs ever. The rust in the inner metal sleeve had welded the bolts and it was impossible to unscrew them no matter what i tried. I started gently and politely with WD40 and wrenches, then hammers, later with fire, nothing helped.
I cut the toe arms with a grinder and burned the rubber bushing, still no luck. In the end i took a pneumatic hammer and after a while i managed to get the bolts out. I cleaned them and painted them and they were as good as new.
I still have the bushings in the lower front arms to change, so i'll wait with the wheel alignment till then.






Next time i won't be so cheap and buy new bolts from Toyota Center before i do such a job.

Default Front lower arms - bushings replacement

A little update,- I replaced the bushings in my front lower arms yesterday. Some of the old bushings were already replaced with polyurethane bushings which made the ride uncomfortable and were squeaking pretty badly(like a 1956 Cadillac) and the rest of the bushings were worn-out OEM rubber ones.

Question Need a little help with wheel alignment

Since i've been replacing lots of suspension details i need to do a 4-wheel alignment.

I am trying to track down the specifications for a 4 wheel alignment. Does anyone have these specs?
SC300/SC400 cars were never sold in Sweden and the computer that does the alignment does not have the specs.
I found these specs but i am missing all the other data:

Wheelbase 2690mm / 105.9inches
Track/tread (front) 1521mm / 59.9inches
Track/tread (rear) 1524mm / 60 inches
Length 4854mm / 191.1inches
Width 1790mm / 70.5inches
Height 1336 mm / 52.6 inches
length:wheelbase ratio 1.8

hey new to this thread im very impressed with your car i have a very similar 95 im thinking running a similar setup with a few secret mods keep up the good work man ! here is a pic of my car, the only one at the moment i just bought it. I pick it up next week after the check clears and its registered insured. P.S. im really looking forward to the finished product !

Hi, Your car looks like a very nice start object, looks clean no dents or rust. Looks like you have the tan interior, which is the most common, you won't be having any problems finding second hand interior details. Good luck, i hope we'll soon see a thread with your progress!

I run the lances alignment for the mk4 supra, it tells you where you want each value which is nicer than the stock specs which can vary alot. It helps if the person aligning it is willing to do custom specs and get it as close as possible. generally the rear does not need adjustment unless its been in an accident or you are trying to custom fit wheels, but its a good idea to check it and confirm its within range side to side in the back.

Thx Ali, that was really good info, the car is back from alignment, i'm not entirely happy with the results, it seems they could align the front quite allright, however they found one bushing in the back where the screw was rusted and they couldn't move it. All in all it was an acceptable result, i'll change that last bushing when i've nothing better to do :-).
If all goes according to my plan i'll start with the real stuff already tomorow:
1. remove the front
2. remove hydraulic fan
3. remove intake manifold (for cleaning, porting and painting)
4. replace injectors and ignition cables
5. install FPR
6. change timing belt
7. delete fan pump
8. install LS400 fan-bracket, fish and supercharger
9. install electric fans
10. install FMIC and piping

test ?

Talking Timing belt replacement

Finally the installation of the supercharger has begun.
I began by removing the front, the radiator and the hydraulic fan.
I thought that i might as well change the timing belt while i'm at it.
Here is what i've done so far:

removed the old oil pump for the hydraulic fan

Here is the new LS400 fan bracket


I also discovered that will need slightly longer screws for the fish bracket, at least 3cm.


Anyways, the timing belt is now changed, next items on the agenda are:
  • change injectors
  • change ignition cables
  • mount fish bracket and move the fuse box 1 cm closer to the fender wall
  • manufacture a couple of spacers for the longer screws
  • manufacture a spacer for the belt tensioner
  • buy a 3"--3.5" 90 degree silicone adapter for the throttle body
  • buy a new radiator since i discovered that mine is almost gone

More to come in the next days
