Default 1uz into sc300 questions

i see many people swapping out the 1uz for a 2jz or 1jz swap but i was wondering what would it take to swap a 1uz into an sc300 with a manual transmission? i know the ecu harness, the bell housing, and exhaust are different but are the body harnesses, fuel pump, fuel pump ecu, fuses, ect. the same? i figured if i use the stock manual trans the speedo wont change but what about the tach? are most of the connections just plug in and go?

search its been covered numerous times. not being a douche, but this question pops up at least once a month and the thread never ends well due to the 2jz vs 1uz debate

Best way is to sell your factory 5 spd and buy a 400 and manual swap it

If i were to sell my factory 5 speed i would have to mess with cutting a hole for the shifter and pedal conversions with some cutting and splicing of wires and the speedo being off. plus id have to buy a new car. i figured a 1uz costs around 400 with an ecu and wiring harness would be cheaper to swap in

You're then either going to have to pay a shop to wire the body plugs or spend a few hundred on manuals and gamble on the wiring. Dr Tweak doesn't even make a harness as a back up plan for your swap. You're gonna mess with alot more then cutting a hole for a shifter and drilling a few holes for your clutch swapping a 1UZ into a sc300

not really, 5 speed swap a 1uz is easy. way easier than putting a 1uz into your 300.

Yup...haha. i read it as your going to have to alot more than cut a hole. I was thinking that pretty much the hard park. Especially the clutch. Such a small area to work in...i had to take a break cuz i was getting shoulder and neck cramps! Maybe im just too big...

The clutch is the hardest part of the swap... don't give a f what anybody says I took out my seats and carpet so I would fit (I'm 6'3") but even then I was laying hyper extending my back over that damn bump for the seat brackets. Still it was really only a few hours work.. and that was with finding the right tools spread across the shop.

its already a 5 speed so everything is there just a new clutch bellhousing and flywheel and it should bolt up. thats why I was just asking if the motor would drop in plug in and go or have to mess with changing the plugs and wiring on the driver side panel.

I know the 1jz plugs into both the sc300 and sc400 just fine just needs to extend the harness so the 1uz should be able to plug in right?

The 1JZ is not plug and play in either 300 or 400.. we All wish it was just extend and go. and also as I said earlier the 1UZ body plugs are different as well

he already knows about the sc400 route or swapping in another motor etc..
so lets keep it on track and give info that will help the OP get a 1uz into his 300.
I think you will need an electric fan setup and probably something with the a/c lines I believe they are different at some point.
I don't think the body plugs are all the same, only a soarer 1jz set will fit into a sc300 with the extension, everything else requires a rewire was my understanding but then again I haven't done the swap, but I can't help but recall some of those issues from others threads. that would be cool though if all the body plugs were the same but sounds off for some reason.

edit* read quicksc4's post at the bottom of this thread, different motor, same thing from 400 body plugs to 300 plugs though. says body plugs are the same physically but some wires need to be changed.
