Default anyone two bovs?

Not just run two bovs, but has anyone ran two different types of bovs? I'm just woundering how it would sound and if there would be any down fall? Say run a tial q on cold side and a greddy s on hot side? Any opinions out there ?

Run Tial valves, you won't regret it. Their use of v-bands make assembly much, much easier. Many Japanese valves use snap rings to secure them in their flange which can be a pain to work with.

Sorry, this doesn't really answer your question regarding sounds.

So you want to run 2 different bov's for the difference in sounds not for the benefit of making the Turbo more safe to compressor surge SMH

Lol well I was thinking of running two anyways to lower the chance of compressor surge but I was just woundering how two different would sound thats all.

And would there be much difference from running one on hot side and one on cold side. Compaired to two beside each other on cold side ?

Yah. Now thats pointless.. I don't understand how this is a ricer subject? When I'm building a 700hp motor on a stock bodied sc on stock rims and I ask a question about bovs to maybe be a tad bit different that not many people try.

Not trying to **** on your cheerios ^^^^^^ just put one before the intercooler turbo side and 1 after intercooler on intake side before throttle body.
Good luck

You really don't need two unless you want to. Many four digit cars run fine with a single Tial, The money saved can be better spent in other areas.

I was just kidding around, the tial is a great BOV when adjusted properly, you should only need one, but yeah if you want to run 2 you can put the 2nd one wherever you feel like it.
one on hot side one on cold side, or sometimes for show people put them right next to each other.
either way its a pressurized pipe, the air will want to get out wherever it is, just make sure they open at the right point to prevent surge.

Adjusted properly are you talking about Spring rates?

Also at 700hp which on a 66-67mm turbo you will be in the 26-29 psi range on a 2j I would highly recommend 2 bov's for turbo life expectancy!

yeah, you have to get the right spring, and the ones they list for our cars can be too tight so they either open late or very little. When I changed my compression ratio its like my Tial became really laggy and was surging. so I figured out what most people do is get a spring lighter, and add large washers to the bottom as shims. I can't remember which spring is in there but I only ended up using one or 2 washers. stays closed at idle, and opens instantly when you let off.

for me it was too stiff of a spring causing surge at first, went down the next spring and had it open at idle, which people say is fine, but I like mine to be just a hair passed closed, so I had to add a few washers to where it is closed at idle, and opens up pretty much instantly when you let off the throttle.
too much tension and you open too late, too little tension and the valve isn't closed until you hit the throttle and you are getting unfiltered engine bay air.
I also think you get a hair better throttle response when the bov is closed at idle, versus it having to close up after you hit the throttle.
