Default Highest Mileage Challenge

Anyone got more than 325,000 miles on an original (92) SC400; ever heard of one?

325,000 is unbelievable.

Think of how much money on gas you've spent on that V8 to get there.

curious reply (?!)

actually, I don't don't believe the mileage for the V8 is that much much worse than the 6 cyl..

I routinely get 400 miles/20 gal tank

how 'bout you?

that is awesome you got that many miles out of your car. Do you have any pics of it? It would be neat to see what an SC looks like with that kind of mileage.

You're getting 400 miles per tank on your SC4? I wish I could even come close to that. I wonder whats wrong with my car. I just drove from tampa to orlando and its just over 90miles. I was at the half mark and now its barely above empty. I didnt turn the AC on at all. I'm getting like half the miles you are. lol oh well

Kccapt,

Very impressive. I hope to be there someday myself. I have 155K on my 93 SC400 and still going strong.

I have 193K on my 93 SC400. StiLL going strong. As for miles per gaLLon 350-400 miles per fill up is what the SC400 is suPPose to do that is what i get aLLways as long as no AC on. You sould use 93 octane. If you stiLL don't get it take care to the shop.

Default milage

ya the best indicator that i use is that at the 3/4 mark 100 miles 1/2 tank 200, and so forth, if there is any variance from that i know something is wrong...i average 24 MPG... my driving is get in the car drive 250 miles hwy... let the car sit overnight and drive 250 miles again... when i do local driving i get around 20-21, never once has it dropped into the teens.

use techron it works well.

pardon bad grammar and poor spelling.

There's an older white guy who works near my moms office near battery street in San Francisco.

Owns a bone stock looking 92 SC400. He and I struck up conversation a 3 years ago..and at THAT time he had just passed 300K miles..and still going strong.

He said he just did regular services..and just had to replace the tranny at 250K. Other than that..it ran just like new and kept going.

That's why I am keeping this car.
