so wow I just don't know what to think. I have done everything i can think of to make it run. I have checked all sensors crank, cam. I have tested all the coils all the plugs went threw the whole harness to make sure i plugged everything in. I'm at a loss could it be a theft deterrent system ? i unplugged my turbo timer thinking it might be that but nope. so if anyone has an idea pleas help. it wants to start i can here it trying to!
Hey man, Sorry I haven't been able to give you a call yet. I was out of the office some last week due to being sick, and now I'm still playing catch up.
oh hey man i understand not a problem. I have been down with a cold my self so no worries i will be trying to get at my car this weekend so ill give the doc a call. and thanks for getting back to me i appreciate that
so ok now that everything is up and running I still have a problem. the transmission when i push in the clutch peddle i can feel it release but when it dose it makes a loud noise like its grinding or slipping and it only happens when i push in and when i release it. but when the clutch is fully out its fine no grind. but when i go to shift gears its a quick grind not a gear grind but a pressure plate grind. i got it from drift motion its there heavy duty pressure plate and stock R154 clutch disk ? anyone ever have a problem like this. it sounds like i might have forgot something when i assembled it like a peace of the release barring or something or i didn't torque it down hard enough? i don't know. I bought everything that was needed from toyota to assemble the release barring. it has a new clutch a new 2800 lbs pressure plate, a new fork and release barring assembly. it just seams like its engaging very loose like. any thoughts pleas
is there not anyone ever that has had this problem. and also when i rev the motor it sound ok. till i rev it up to say like 3500 to 5 grand it wants to sputter and i can here popping in the exhaust any idea. it makes the sound like something is not firing right
so this is what i found out. Apparently using the spacer that came from the auto trans should not be used on the soarer R154 setup it will cause the springs on the clutch disk to scrape the bolts on the flywheel no good. dose anyone know if by pulling the spacer and running the bolts all the way in will be ok? they wont be rubbing on anything? i hope.
that little mark on the clutch disk is from the flywheel bolts they should be ok right?. so i'm going to put it back together today and see how it will be. if anyone know about running the bolts all the way in and knows this is a no! no! pleas let me know thanks
no dude. that ring needs to stay off. thats why there is a grind mark. look at my thread on when i was installing my tranny and you will get some pointers.
thanks man that worked out awesome thanks for the info. now all i need to do is find out why it runs so rough. As soon as i get it up to 3000 rpm it starts to sputter and backfire a little and run real bad. but if i slowly take the rpm up it sounds ok not to bad but when i mash down the throttle it wont get over 3000 rpm and sounds like ish
