On my way to school today i was goin about 40 and punched the brakes pretty good without sliding or making any noise. While braking i made a right hand turn (90 degree turn) and my power steering felt like it was starting to give out and my power steering pump started making a squeeling/moaning noise. After driving normally for about 15 seconds it went away as if it had to repressurize. Is my power steering pump going out? If anybody knows whats up please help me out here.
ALSO: i recently hit a curb and replaced one of the power steering hoses because it broke and all the fluid dumped out. The car has probably run for a total of 10 min with no power steering fluid in the pump but only about 2 min of that were spent turning the wheel. ANY help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in adavance
It is most likely your filter screen in the bottom of your power steering fluid reservoir. I made a post about this about a week ago, search it and you'll understand what's probably happening to your car.
