For those who have taped the trim with the matte black trim tape...are you taping all the way to the rubber edge of the trim or just to the edge of the chrome bits?

 

Just to the edge of the chrome trim for me. It gets really tricky around the round corners. I ended up cutting and overlapping the pieces around the big curves neatly as if a dealer did it OEM.

 

Thanks for the response. I bought some of that 3M BMW shadow line trim tape. I don't see it being too tricky to install. Ill probably overlap around the corners if the stuff is not elastic enough to do it in one piece which I have no problem with.

 

Plasti dip stuff works great but I think imma use the 3M window trim since I don't want to tape half my window jus to paint it

 

Damn man it's like every week someone bumps an old thread out of the blue, and it just add's another thing to my to do list.

 

LOWEs still carries it. I just got my white plasti-dip from them not 3 weeks ago n did my emblems. White on blue.

 

White emblems??? Cool....please post some pics. I just went from chrome to black emblems on my light green SC and the contrast is awesone (I think). Would like to see your white on the blue...

I had this delemea when putting the ventvisors on the car. they really runin the lines of the car. so I went flat black to make it look rubberish

 

Electrical tape + Box cutter + 30 minutes = Blacked out trim...

...BRILLANT!

Literally pulled this off in less than 30 minutes. Came out pretty snazzy.

I don't kno what I think about that. I don't hate it, but I don't like it either. It's neutral.

 

Yeah i was looking for a quick mod, and since my wheels are white i decided to white my emblems also. Its different. to each their own right!?!

 

White emblems on a blue car is such a cheap look.
