I just picked up a 92 SC4 & about the only thing the key works in is the ignition. The passenger and trunk locks are different and the driver side door lock is so messed up I'm afraid that it will break any day & I won't be able to get into the car. That being said, I found a local guy parting out another SC4(a '95) and I will be getting the keys all 3 locks and the ignition cylinder from him in the morning. What neither of us knows is if just having his master key will be sufficient to allow the ignition cylinder to work properly in my car, or do I need to purchase and install his ECU as well? Thanks in advance!

Well, the parts are in hand. Pending a respose I'll find out via trial & error this weekend whether the ecu is needed. I've found threads about the IS (depending on the year it is needed) and the GS, but nothing early model SC specific thus far. We shall see...

Ha found it! (finally!) This guy did it (the hard way), but had no issues with starting, although he seemed to encounter a locked steering wheel, which I shoudn't have an issue with since I'm not touching the housing, simply the cylinder. I definitely learned something. Maybe this will help someone else Alright, I'm off to do a DSM engine swap!
