Help! :(
My cigarette car lighter wont work anymore. I put in my car charger one day and the thing just wouldnt charge. I tried several other car chargers but no luck either. Is it the cigarette lighter or is it just because i happen to pick up malfunctioned car chargers?? is there any way to fix it? some one help please. appreciate it! thanks! ^_^
Are you talking about a charger like one would use to recharge a cell phone? If so, I believe in most older SC's, the cigarette lighter will not work unless the car is on or has the key in the ignition. This is the case in my car, its just something you have to get used to unless youre up for a major re-wire job, and if thats the case, I have no idea where to begin. Best luck

jeez, wow, whew, you're in a real pickle, the lighter's busted, may as well sell the car - -
no, really, a fuse is easy. First, shine a flashlight down into the lighter socket to be sure nothing fell in it, even a little bitty bit of something made of metal could blow the fuse. So look and vacuum it out if you need to.
Then worship your car - seriously! - open the driver's door and get down on your knees and look into the driver's footwell and to the left, above the edge of the carpet up under the dash, and you will see a bunch of little colored fuses. Shine a flashlight in there and find fuse #7. Pull it out and go buy one just like it and stick it in and see if the lighter works.
If it still doesn't, well, that's a different jar of pickles...
BTW, the lighter will only work with the key in the "acc" or "run" position, which imo is dumb - we all need to charge the phone when the car isn't on, right? Duh. I see you have a '94 - mine's a '93 - I wonder if Toyota fixed that in later years, or did they provide another socket for chargers?

Oh man don't go to the dealer!!!!
Fuses are pretty easy to change...you should do it yourself...that's the problem for sure.
