If I can remove it, and have one like yours, that'd be WAY better.
Mine Sc came with one also. I was worried it was drilled through. I just went for it, and the antenna is just on with double sided tape. Its tough, so once you get the antenna part off, use a razor type blade to cut it off. Mine was a b*tch. I had to do the inside and outside of the glass.

Which GM vehicle? (Does it come amplified or did you mod it?)

Any GM vehicle built after 2007 that had satellite radio has it, they are easy to spot in junkyards with the antenna on them. This one came off of a Saturn Ion, you'll need the cables for it too (around 3-6' long depending on the car), and one of these...

I drilled the hole in the roof, pulled down the rear of the headliner a bit, hooked it up, ran the cable down to the trunk, used the power antenna lead to power it, and just hooked the adapter to the factory antenna cable. Pretty easy install, only took about an hour...

Your antenna doesn't have a hole under it, that glass is far to thin and fragile to drill....
That square in the window is part of a radar/lazer detection system...

So I can (safely) remove this one, and do it your way?
Any idea how? I dunno how they installed mine, however there is another "lil' box" on the inside, beneath it.
It's the same size as the base of the outside part.

Oh sweet, you had the same thing?
So I could prolly just get some adhesive remover and use some elbow-grease, yeah?
In that case, Im doin' it. I like Murco's. Maybe even a shark fin would be nice. I just want RECEPTION!

I'd guess adhesive remover, but call a glass company to be sure. Just ask them what they use to remove cell antennas with. They'll usually tell you, usually.... lol
I wanted a "shark fin" like what was on my Audi (or VW, BMW, etc..) but DANG, they were pricey! If anyone has a lead on one of those for cheap I'll replace mine in a heartbeat!

Maybe carefully applying some heat with a heat gun might soften it up. Gotta be careful though with the glass

I did, but OEM pieces that are complete were $100+! I'll pay $50 tops, I'll find one someday...

Btw, the reception sucks, once Im on the highway heading to Jersey (from Philly).
Is there a way to boost it? (Yes, I searched, but people are saying their "Antenna Boosters" don't work very well. So whats the alternative? Im thinking of unscrewing this, and using an S2000 one).

That is the antenna for the car phone.

OMG, I'm laughing at myself for not catching that! My car had the built-in phone and you can still see where that antenna was attached to the back window!

All right! I just got off the phone with Steve at Tune Trapper and ordered the same one you got. He said I should have it in 3 days. I can't wait!

Make sure you mount it as close as possible to the window for the best reception. You may also be able to place it in the headliner if it reaches....I was satisfied with my reception in the dash, so I didn't try the headliner.

I'll post pics up soon if I can get time today or tomorrow to work my audio.

Are you serious?
So you're saying that the person I bought it from, just unplugged the stock antenna, and installed this ('cus I do have a speaker-phone mic), and that's why I have such awful reception?
'Cus I don't have any antenna at all? LOL

Wtf :\

In that case, Im definitely deleting this antenna altogether.

That antenna was installed from the factory.

If you are still using the stock headunit unplugging the stock antenna is alright. There is a second antenna built into the rear windshield, it uses the smaller antenna plug.

An antenna that isn't vertical? Strange.
