Default Sc300 engine removal....Wire harness???

Ok I have a 93 sc300. I have a blown head gasket, and I'm replacing the motor. I have most of the intake piping removed, but now I'm stuck. The wire harness is wrapped around lower intake manifold. My question is does the lower intake manifold have to be removed to remove the wire harness? If so its gonna suck changing the motor. Thanks in advance.

Pull the harness through the grommet on the passenger side of the firewall. It's connected to the ecu in there

Sorry, i was looking to see ifI had any pictures that would help you but i could not find any more. You want to take out the passenger kick panel and bring the carpet back uncover the ecu and unplug it, then unplug i believe 3 more connections from that harness and with unbolting the grommet as stated above you should be able to pull the harness threw the firewall. You might have to finagle with the connectors a bit but they will come.

Ignore the circle...

EDIT: Found those 2, hope they help!

Ok. I guess that's the way to go. I thought it would be better to get the harness off the motor, then pull it out since I'm getting another block and head.

So I'll be pulling the motor then changing the accessories, and the harness on the outside of the engine bay.

One more question???? Does the intake manifold and all the vac lines have to be removed to get the harness off the engine?

Sorry I'm.. I'm use to the SR20DET, and the 13BT....... Super easy. Not the SC300 I see.

Its just a beginners thing. The 2JZ is easy to get in and out once you've done it once.

You don't have to take the IM off, but for removal, it would be really easy to pull the upper. It can be done, but its pretty tight. Pull the injector rail and you should have more than enough room.

the harness sort of goes all around the intake manifold. If you are pulling the engine, it is much easier to do it off the engine, and you will probably be taking the intake manifold off, which is much easier when out of the car.
