Something wrong car accelerating and rev'n by itself

Default Something wrong car accelerating and rev'n by itself

My car was driving fine all day until i was driving home, car started accelerating by itself and also when i parked my car it started rev by itself, can somebody tell me what's possibly wrong i have a 92 sc 400 automatic, steering wheel also shaked a little as well.

may it be the new toyota recall where cars automatically accelerate!

Toyota a couple years ago had a recall on newer Toyota's that automatically accelerated, I doubt you have the same problem though

any other symptoms...the car is an antique so there are a lot of things that may need to be looked at

exactly how much is it revving? a few hundred rpms? it's a mechanical linkage to the throttle body so there's no way for the throttle to open without your foot on the pedal. it could be a vaccum leak, does it rev up and down?

looks to me like you may have a sticky throttle body/intake, clean out your intake, check your tension... just my 2cents, even if it's not worth anything!

Check your throttle cable, maybe its too tight. It happened to.the.family suv, something the cable.would stick. Loosen the tension a bit, really easy to do.
