I noticed something strange while looking at the afc throttle percentage today. I was driving the car and punched it and saw the throttle percentage go to 80%. I then held the pedal at the same position, and noticed the throttle percentage decreasing.

Should the display not have remained at 80% or higher?

While you think you were hitting it constantly I am pretty sure that your body and foot were slightly being leaned back ever so decreasing the pressure you were exerting on the accelerator at that throttle percentage. If you hit 100% throttle and see it falling then I would worry about it. How much difference was there? In other words how many %throttle per second was it dropping?

Do you drive a 300 or 400 lilnard? I have a 400 and it's on the throttle body facing the front of the car.

 

oh yeah you would need to know what kind of sc i drive i have a 400.

 

I did some more investigating today. I did the sensor check on the afc, and got the following values:

sensor check:
@ 0 throttle = .5 volts
@100 throttle = 3.75 volts

I know I have the right wire tapped, I read somewhere the tps voltage ranges from 0-5 volts.

Could it be a bad afc?

 

I noticed the same basic thing on my SAFC2. Oddly enough, the AVC-R attached to the very same wire reads more correctly... I don't know what could be the culprit. It's sort of frustrating, since the AVC-R reads more correctly, I'd have to assume that the problem lies within the Apexi stuff.

I noticed that on a long trip, even the AVC-R would even read wrong after several minutes, the indicated throttle position would gradually migrate readings until the throttle is completely released, then it corrects itself.

My guess is that since these two boxes don't have a calibration function, that its the self adjusting internal circuitry that is causing slight errors. Sort of a design flaw, IMHO.
