Default my "HELP ME C.L."thread

hello guys. have some questions. ive noticed lately everyone is doing thier own thing and the e-support has lagged. well i don't ask for real help much. so iam hoping this damn thread will work.
let's begin/trouble shoot.

--my hazard lights don't work--

the turn signals work but hazards don't. checked the fuses and still no avail. i removed the stock stereo. but i kept the housing bracket and the plugs that go on the bottom of it.

--when i crank the car the turbo dosen't spin--

is that normal. mind you ive never got the car to turn over . it just cranks. my first exposed turbo and wondering if thats normal

--how do i get my foglights on--

i have some aftermarket foglights. i might go ahead and toggle switch them to work when i wan't. but on a stock setup how do you get them to turn on??

--fuel fuel fuel--

so i removed the dampner on the engine block and iam feeding the feed line(the line with the fuel filter). directly to the fuel rail via a non-high pressure hose. iam plumbing the feed line into the back of the rail with the return comming from the front(where the stock fpr is).

didn't check for spark yet. but pulled my plugs and no oil or fuel. so thier not getting flooded. the fuel pump does prime when i crank it over. it just FEELS like the car isn't getting fuel.

turbo wont spin much if at all just cranking, your engine needs to be combusting more or less.

stock fogs turn on with a ring on the headlight arm thing that comes out behind the steering wheel.

have you done the neutral safety switch bypass?

-so i sprayed starter fluid on the throttle plate. and the car seems like it really is/about to kick over.
- tried 3 different ignitors so that's not the problem.
-iam still using the 400 fuel pump. think that would be an issue during just a simple startup??
-going to look for spark today/tomm. but if the car is reacting to the starter fluid then it dose have spark correct??

If it is reacting to starter fluid then i would think it does have spark, so check out the fuel.
I think the pump should be fine for at least getting it started, but check to see if its coming on.

well just checked the voltage going to the fuel pump and it's less than a volt.

so ran a line to the fp; (12v from batt) and violia found the problem. the spark coils are bad. power going to coils. but no spark. time for some new coils. anyone know if another toyota aside from the mk4 supras are compatable??

so heres my (current, upto date) status on my wiring/starting debacle!!!

so i

-do have power to the ecu-from the battery pin

-I DO have power to the ignitor

-i DO have power to the fuel pump BUT it's less than 1 volt.

-i DO have power going to the injectors

-i DO have power going to the spark coil

-IAM NOT SURE if iam not grounding the spark coil correctly. if i am the coils are bad.

-I DON'T know what this plug goes to.

-i AM getting power to the main 100 fuse(if this is the main fuse)

so heres what i did.. ran a wire from the battery to the fuel pump. and the pump does work. had fuel in the line and car still didn't start up. the starter works fine. but just can't get the damn thing to kick over. so leads me to believe the coils are bad. again, if iam checking/grounding them right??

Double check your crank sensor. The injectors and coils should always have 12v while the key is on. The ecu sends a ground signal to fire both injectors and coils. Jump the diagnostic box fp and b+ to see if the fuel pump primes when the key is turned on.

I don't think you are grounding them right. the end of that screwdriver is not a ground if it has an insulated handle. all the voltages look right, I don't see anything out of place from what you have described.
It could be the crank sensor among other things.

do you smell fuel after cranking? and have you had this motor running before or did you make some changes? just trying to figure out how deep we are looking into here.

The crank sensor is located on the passenger side of the oil pump. The connector should be near the water pump
