How to tell if your SC is rare?
Well I Have a 97, Platinum, AT, Blk/Blk interior, all options checked.. Trunk struts work fine, no cracks on vents or upper door pannels, and 0 leaks.. It literally blew my mind when I put it in the air for the first time.. There was nothing to do.. So I polished my Trans pan lol
They are rare but there are always a couple out there for sale. My 5-spd is the only SC I've owned and I looked for it specifically. I wasn't willing to get a car with an automatic so it was one of the few older cars in a list of mostly newer cars I was willing to shop classifieds for at the time I bought it. If I hadn't found an SC300 manual I would have bought something else, simple as that. Put your desire out there into the universe and have nothing to lose when you start shopping.
Seriously. If that's what you want, put it out there and look. They are more expensive than automatic SC300's and sometimes a totally original example will need some TLC despite having a clean body and interior (this happened to me) but I considered it worth it.
^^ And this. Especially if it's any year SC 5-speed hardtop or even an SC400 hardtop (I don't even know if any such 400's were made).

I'd love to have no sunroof. I guess it is useful on those very hot California days or in the desert. I'll never understand why sport coupes had mandatory or ever-prevalent sunroofs in the 1990's.
Kind of related to this, how rare is any Rennaissance Red SC with a black interior ? I came across a 1998 SC300 with that combo on Cars.com and I have never seen that before. I wish I had the money to get it right now !
Mine is a '93 original 5-speed Onyx Black w/ Ivory (tan) interior. There were 910 produced for 1993. Not the rarest but I've only seen one or two unmodified 5-speeds in the wild other than mine-- unless I happen to stop into a performance shop that specializes in 2JZ/1JZ Toyotas. 98-00 SC400's, 97 5-speeds and that Royal Sapphire Pearl exterior color are still the most rare among our cars.

damn you guys and ur manual sc's
