Default How to remove the black bits on the wind shield trim?

I would like to take off the black trim since its chipping and leave it silver, how should I go about this without scratching the silver/chrome layer?
Thanks for any help, its greatly appreciated.

Also, I have this bigger pin strip sticker thing the previous owner put on the trunk, doesnt look like a heat gun or hair dryer will remove it, should I still try or should i use some goo gone. It almost seems eteched to the paint.

Any decal can be removed with or without a heat gun. Depending on how long the decal has been placed, you might need to compound the paint in order to remove the "ghost" image that is possibly left.

Cool, I'll try a heat gun tomorrow, hopefully it comes off. I dont mind compounding the area.

Any input on the window trim?

careful with a heat gun, you DO NOT want to overheat/burn the paint! If it were me, I would wait till a very hot sunny day to tackle that sticker. The metal then should be at about 120 degrees and should make the decal much easier to remove. Do not use a metal scraper!, Use a plastic scrapper or an old credit card.

No it's not, it's just paint. Might sound crazy, but what I did on mine was tape as much parts as I can that I don't want the stripsol to touch. And it worked, but I wouldn't recommend it to weak hearts. So scary to even think that the stripsol is gonna damage the paint.
