Default UPDATE Got another one for ya...

LOOK AT LAST POST FOR UPDATE
I have found another SC. Unlike the last one, this one actually runs! haha. This one might go quickly. I am going to look at it in the morning, but I talked to the gentleman for about 15 minutes about the car. It is a 1996 SC300, 178,xxx miles. Emerald Green/Tan Interior. He said the only issue is that the drivers door is locked shut. Despite unlocking it on the inside, he said it won't open. He said the part is $350 and that he could do it himself, but doesn't want to. This sounds like the cable has come off or something... But the price sounds really cheap to me... $2500. Yay or Nay? I really think this one is nice. He said interior is a 7/10, and the outside is a 9/10. So let me know what you think. Here are the pics from the ad:

Let me know! Thanks!
Jason

The cable might have gotten loose inside. Could be a cheap fix. Just gotta pry the door panel and see. From my phone (small pics) car looks good.

Yea seems like a OK deal, not to change subject but, my passenger door don't open from the outside, is this a common problem on SC's and is it a simple fix? you guys seem to know about it.

Get a couple more hundreds off. There was a fix thread about the door somewhere around here.

Yeah, go and check it out...offer him 2200. Bring it home, pull the door panel and see what's the issue. Either way, should be relatively easy to fix. You could pick up parts from a junk yard, or PM Aliga-he always has parts, and I'm sure he could get the part you need to fix the door? Definitely at a better price. Don't worry, Aliga is a legit dude-excellent Trader score too! Highly respected in the CL fam?

yup very easy, its a 5 dollar part and pretty easy to do. its a plastic clip that goes bad 99% of the time. Search on here to find the part number and just order it in. They even got a DIY on here somewhere

Stick to your guns...2200 cash, and you'll have yourself a "gem". LOL. Seriously, when you go to check out the car, try and avoid being over anxious with the car. The seller will see this, and set firm on his price, because he'll know that you really want that car. GL

Well did you buy the car? Seems like an easy fix on the door. Drive it home and fix it. :-)

Exactly , clip is kinda hard to get in/out but overall isn't a hard fix

i think his problem may be a little different. i just had to replace the clip, kind of a PITA, but it was 5 bucks and easy to do. but his door won't open from the inside and mine did. i think it's something a little different when it won't open from the inside. still should be pretty cheap though.
