Alrighty, I went to look at the vehicle this morning... Outside is in great shape. One or two dings, and one scratch that I can buff out... Inside is not what he said, It isn't a 7/10 I would say it's a 5/10. Needs new leather. Needs the trim piece around the radio (peeling), and probably two new door panels due to cracks.
But on to the drivers door issue:
The door will not open AT ALL. He said the only way to take it apart is to tear in to the door panel or cut the outside of the door to get at the lock mechanism. I may have a way to get 2 new door panels so cutting the door panel apart may be the way to go.
It also has an exhaust leak of some sort. It's quite loud. He said it's an aftermarket muffler, but I know the difference...
So I can get the car for $1900. Think I may be able to fix all of this and still make a buck? Everything else is solid.

If your looking to keep it as a backup care or DD, it's worth it.

For what it's worth, I'd probably pull the trigger. Doesn't sound too bad, except for the driver's side door.

IMO: If you're looking to make a quick buck it may not be worthwhile, you probably won't make much profit. Plus, you might run into some other problem, which the seller didn't tell you about.

That's what I'm thinking. It looks like a great little car to keep as a DD and save the miles on the RX, but I would be interested in fixing the little things and reselling it after a few months. I'm thinking that there isn't much profit in it so I will probably pass. But he is leaving town on the 10th of the month, so we shall see if no one else is interested in it, I told him to give me a call back...

$1900..... Thinking you can fix the door cheap, doesn't sound to bad. But I would try to get it down to $1700 or so. If no one bites on it.
