Default automatic dimming side mirrors

I have a 98 SC4 with automatic dimming rear and side view mirrors.

The rear view mirror works great, When its in auto mode, it will turn headlights a teal/green color.

The owners manual says that the side view mirrors are supposed to dim the same amount as the rear view mirror when the rear view mirror detects headlights, but my side mirrors dont appear to work. The side mirrors still show headlights as their proper color with no dimming, not the teal/green color of the rear view mirror.

Is there any correct way to test if they are working or not? Anyone else have this issue? I ran a search with not much luck.

PS: Yes I am sure my side mirrors are auto dimming, they have the two row connector as opposed to the single row one.

I'm not sure if either my side view mirror or rear view is working. I always have it on auto (the little green light is on), and it doesnt seem to change anything..
I always get blinded by pickups or suv's.

The manual says that when the center mirror detects glare, the side mirrors dim the same amount as the center one.

Yes, there is a way to test them, it involves checking the low voltage that goes to the mirrors. When I have time I'll check my service manual.

+1 but get led reverse lights I used to hate backing up at night.. and not sure about the states but up here in Canada I've gotten plenty of tickets in the car but they have never even mentioned anything about my tint. Not sure the percent but my girlfriend loves it because it works as a mirror from the outside it's so dark

Disconnect the connector that goes to the side mirrors and apply voltage to pin #1 and pin #2. Should be the top two pins on the upper right of the harness. The manual does not specify how much voltage, but I would not apply more than 1.5 volts DC. It states that the mirror will dim when you apply voltage (+) to pin 1 and (-) to pin 2 and will become bright when you reverse voltage.
