Default Help

I have a 1992 sc400 that hasnt started most of this winter, i search this forum and figured that the starter was bad, so i buy the starter, spark plugs, and wires. I figure since its in the shop i might as well get more things done. The day i sent it to the shop, i went to try and start it, and suprisingly it started, i drove it to the gas station put 25 in premium, drive home and parked it and it wouldnt start back up. The tow truck drops it off at the shop and the shop calls me and says it needs a new engine because the "crank" wont turn when he puts the socket on it and tries to turn it. Has anybody ever heard of this? The car just ran

I know this is a really stupid question to ask a mechanic, but knowing mechanics....did he try to turn the crank with the car in park? You never know the intelligence of some people.

It did not need a new engine, changed the spark plugs and wires, put on a new ignition coil, and fuel pressure regulator and it runs fine
