i just bought my r154 so i put it in the car no issue *thankk god i put it in as i said now its time for the driveshaft i bought the 1jz front half and was told it would bolt onto the w58 back half ok so i stuffed the front half into the tranny and bolted it to the rear half but now the drive shaft and the wheels wont spin unless i really force them to spin whats wrong here (the cars on the lift with no ecu right now so i cant start it yet) it seems as if the drive shaft is was to long that its straining the diff and or the tranny some one help please!

 

Aren't you suppose to use MKIII turbo half shaft?

Mine was a snug fit compared to the stock w58 driveline but it definitely fits.

 

Yup gotta have the MKIII front half, mines worked like a charm.

 

Same here, just finished doing it personally this afternoon. Must have the R154 front driveshaft.

 

um, r u spinning it by hand? what carrier bearing are you using? i used mk3 supra turbo front shaft with the sc300 carrier. did you try to actually drive it? make sure the clutch is engaging and disengaging all the way, just a question; you did put in fluid right? and the ebrake is functioning properly? the driveshaft should not be jabbed into the transmission by any means. so if its shoved in there hard then thats a big no no.. rotate the drive shaft it should be able to wiggle left and right a little bit make sure its not getting stuck.

 

Should there be any movement up and down at the center support bearing on the front portion of the driveshaft. Mine has maybe 1/2 inch or so, where it moves uo and down. I dont know if that is excessive or not. Post up please.
