Curious..how much does a battery run?
Strong....reverse terminals? Im not familiar with those?
Is there really any difference between a Walmart battery and a Lexus dealer battery qualitywise? I dont want to cut corners with the SC.

if you look at the top of a "standard" car battery, and the terminals are on the side away from you, the plus terminal is on the right and the minus terminal is on the left. Look at the battery in your sc400 and you will see that the plus terminal is on the left: the terminals are "reversed." Trying to get the leads to reach the terminals will be tough and the result will look sloppy unless you get a battery with "reverse terminals."
You need to compare specs to compare quality, the best walmart battery may be as good as the interstate or exide the dealer will sell you - the optima agm is a whole different design, higher quality, more powerful, more dough.

interstate is a major vendor to many car dealers, here is a page from their website that talks about battery ratings - interstate sells optima too -

Actually, you can use a "regular" battery configuration for the SC400, as long as it is beefy enough. I bought one at Costco about 2-3 years ago.... and it is still going strong. You DO have to reverse the position of the battery, and stretch the battery cables a bit, but it works just fine.... and is a whole lot cheaper than the dealer. I just got to believe Lexus made the
"reverse" terminal configuration so you have to buy the battery from them.... but it just is not so.
