Carbon Fiber Interior Trim
So I'm looking to redo my interior wood trims and some black pieces in carbon fiber. However, I'm curious as to what you guys think would be the best approach. I asked my local shop and they said dipping was the best way to go... if you have $1000-1200 to throw around to dip all the pieces -____-. I looked up a good polyurethane trim kit for about ~$250 that looks good, but this morning I thought of possibly being able to take off the pieces and vinyl wrap them in carbon fiber? Not really sure what direction to take.

I could not justify spending $1000+ on some carbon fiber interior parts. Vinyl can be much cheaper but can look quite bad. However, I think as long as it is done properly it would look fine.
In fact a friend of mine does some vinyl work like this, and i must say it looks really good. I'll have to see if I can get some pictures of his stuff to show you.

Cranberry, just my two cents...but there is no way in the h*ll I would pay 1000+ for carbon fiber work. Atleast not on the inside. You could do it yourself for cheap, it'll take some time and patience-well worth it tho! Or you could buy the kit? See what Sonic Motor has to offer, maybe they'll cut a good deal for you?To be honest, you're in Fl...home of some of the cleanest and meanest SCs around! I would post in the CL FL section, maybe there's some FL CL guys that are willing to help you out as well? Either way, good luck!

If I went home and told my woman that I was going to spend $1,000 dollars to replace 3" inch high x 2' foot sections of my interior with carbon fiber trim because I like the way it looks and people will think it's cool, I better have the telephone number to Kobe Bryants divorce attorney.

For the record 3 yds of cf was 60 bucks shipped, resin and hardener, materials and etc. was about 100. So far I have done the wood trim, the plastic seat bases on my supra seats, the buttons on my is300 steering wheel so far. Next is the under hood fuse box and associated parts as well as a radiator diffuser plate to keep air going through it and maybe some other little things...

The real CF wrap looks excellent... I'm going to be taking that direction now that I'm off school for a month and have some more time. @xxtoobsxx: where did you order your CF from?
