i went to toyota to have my engine washed and after it's been riding rough..specially in idle. I think it's the distributer, ignition wires or spark plugs that got wet. I went back to toyota to get it checked and they took out everything to dry it out and even drove it in the highway. I'm pretty sure the ignition wires and distributer are ruined and maybe they would replace it but they said nothing is wrong. However, they wanted me to do a full tune up including the ignition wires, spark plugs, and distributer!!?!. What should i do?

Search through clublexus.com. There has been posts about simmilar problems. When was the last time you did the tune-up? If they say to do it perhaps it's because it's tune-up time. Normally doing rotor, cap, wires, and spark plugs is what you do but do an ignition coil too if your car has high miles.

If the problem started after they washed the engine, I'd suspect that something got wet that shouldn't have and now that part(s) are damaged.
They should offer to make it right for you for free, even if the car was in need of a tuneup, because that's just incompetent to do an engine wash without covering all the sensitive bits first.
