Recently picked up a low mileage 93 SC400 that came with a non working passenger power window. When I first started working on it I determined that it was a bad motor? I had switched power on the pax side coming out of the switch and beyond the plug leading to the motor. So I just figured the motor was shot. I picked up a supposed working motor / regulator from a reliable seller and installed. Followed the online procedure including greasing the regulator tracks. Still nothing. Even tried to "jump" power directly to the motor, and again nothing. I still have good switched power past the harness plug. What am I missing?
I will say that when I took the old regulator out, I had the window taped up so as not to fall, but it stayed up on its own? When I installed the new motor/regulator I had to push the window down in order to line the bolts up. It did move, with not too much effort, but wondering if its off the outer tracks?
Please close this thread, it's fixed. Why did Lexus completely lock out the pax window when the driver side is locked? Most cars, you can lock the other windows, but the driver side master control will still operate them. Either way, I can admit when I do something stupid, the window lock button was pressed in.
First motor was bad, but still doesnt explain why I was still getting switched power?? Oh well, I'm not gonna beat myself up too much over it.
BEFORE you close this thread, I'm having the same issue though. I haven't gone as in depth with it by checking power supply. But my passenger window doesn't roll down, but sometimes in the morning (cold start) it will roll down, but not roll up on my side. It will only roll up on the passenger side switch, but won't roll down on the passenger side switch. I don't know if it has to do with the regulator considering that it still works when it wants.
