Default bad battery cables?

i know ya'lll miss me, well i am back

i just got a '92 5spd sc300 few days back,

have a new alternator, and new battery, the car starts no problem with jumper cables on and as soon as i take cables off it shuts off, could it be bad connection at battery cables?

i did search and cant find much, i had alt checked and its good, and battery is brand new, interstate 800 amp cold start

get a DMM check from post + to - cable. and next is from post - to + cable. which ever has a difference in voltage, is the that needs to be replaced.

Sounds like the alternator even though it is new or the alt fuse is blown.

Sounds like the connections from the alternator to the battery and car are bad.

Your car basically runs off the alternator whenever it's been running for a minute - the battery really is just the starting power.

If your connection from the alternator to the fuse box and/or battery is bad, it could cause your issues.

Alternator Fuse is in the main box, it's screwed into the left column at the top, you can't just pull it out but can visually see whether or not it's blown.

That sounds like a bad ground, it could be broken internally inside the cable it self. I really would need to see some pictures, and if you would happen to have a volt meter around, that's your best bet.

Your main grounds are going to be on the drive side of the block, there will be a junction point on the fender area off the terminal and cable (where the subframe bolts up to) and then the last point I'll have to look at.

I'll grab some pictures after my meeting here in a minute

I want to see those pictures, I am having the same exact issue. Car dies at any given time.I can wiggle my positive cable and I get power again. But when Im driving and I hit too many bumps the car flickers on and off and I have to stop and play with the positive cable again. SMMFH!

Tighten it up and if you can't replace with new one.

I've tightened it up so I guess I need to check my ground or get a new battery cable. SMH
