I have been looking into a way to lock the rear wheels easier/more consistently than the stock drums.

Has anyone ever seen or done a second rear caliper for the SC or Supra?

My searching has yet to show anything.

 

I believe there are a few out there for R34's if you have the means to make your own brackets to adapt them.

 

I've personally never seen a dual caliper setup on an sc, the most i've heard is getting aftermarket brake shoes. I would friggin love a dual setup though. Sounds like something pbm needs to start making

About the only thing I could see being able to install on the SC. Few guys have them locally and drift (From ur sig you probably do too) and they swear by them.

anyways one of our local engineers does cnc work. I'm sure you could contact him for a custom design. Not sure what he'll charge but give it a shot. His post is in that thread.

 

Thanks for the replies guys. I think I may look into making my own bracket and using a wilwood caliper in conjunction with a staging brake. Will probably be expensive!

I have seen a local SC over here bust some nice drifts with the hydraulic setup.

i was actually thinking making a bracket for another oem sc rear caliper or two is300 dual piston or gs300 dual piston calipers.. or use one dual piston as main and the oem sc as the ebrake.. didnt know there was interest for this..

 

This is really, about what the OP is trying to do with his brakes. What I meen is, there is no reason to do a dual caliper set up for road racing. All you need to do is "SPEND THE MONEY' on a good system, like Stoptech. Other wise if your trying to do nothing but drift then just buy the LINK above. No need for trying for something outragious, just to save money on buying what is out there & already proven, cause you wont...

 

^ I'm guessing youre typnig from mobile because i cant really understand what youre trying to say. But yes im sure its for drifting or some other extreme driving; dual caliper setups are most often used so you can rip the ebrake at anytime without compensating main brake pedal feel

No actually typing from my PC. All my words are spelled correctly, may want to check yours haha. Also when you read the OP's original post. He says "DRUM", which actually is only used for the parking break. He never said anything about "drifting", so I didnt assume anything. If one wanted to use a rear locker for drifting, then the link above would be the tool/part you would want to use & it would be connected to the caliper, not the drum. So let assume for just a sec that he was talking about road racing & he had the idea that if he mounted 2 stock calipers onto the rear rotors he would get better braking. It would cost alot more to fab the brackets, run the lines, & buy the caliper. Than just buying TT Supra rears or brembo/stoptech rears. Thats what Im saying...
