I am going to do my lca bushings and I have read that a press is needed to push the polys in but I did the uppers and I was just able to push them in by hand and I would assume the same for lowers? I will just burn the old rubber out with a torch so no issues there.

No need for a press, you can get away with it by just using a dead blow hammer. What happens is, you can easily push in the poly bushings, but once you push the aluminum spacer in the hole of the poly bushing, the poly's start to slide out, it's a bit of a tight squeeze that's why. So once you get the aluminum spacer inside you can start mashing on it with the dead blow hammer. Also, if you bought the prothane ones, the front side of the front LCA is a few millimeter big to fit in the cross member, I was able to push it in but the cross member kinda sliced a bit of that extra poly's no problems though, still snug fit.

all poly bushings can go in w/o a press. I either just press them in by hand, or if it's a tighter fit, just use a c-clamp.

I can't get the small lca bushing apart??
I got the big one burned out no problem and burned out the small one however the bushing has a stamped steel caseing around it which refuses to come apart without major force and I can't even seem to get the aluminum shell/sleeve out of it either so I must be missing something here?

Hmm. When I did mine last week I just burned both out with ease. I was using a propane tank with an attachable torch.

Idea:: Is this a supra lca? I remember the previous owner saying he replaced the lca's and this may explain the descrepancy??

I thought supra lower control arms were stamped? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Could also very well be that the non Toyota LCA have a different type of bushing.

The supra ones are for sure cast but they look the same however I need to find a side by side shot to confirm this.

I am pretty sure there is no aftermarket lca for toyota/lexus.

Haha there is no rubber left at all it is just metal to metal now and it appears as if my prothane bushings will not fit once I do get it out which further makes me think these are supra replacement lca's.
